Teensy the Littlest Fairy by Claressa Swensen is about Teensy who is the smallest fairy at Shimmery Forest. She wants to grow and become big so that the other fairies in the forest will notice her. She does not know how to become big. Then Carry the Caterpillar crawls into Teensy’s tree. Carry the Caterpillar notices that Teensy is sad and she tells Carry the reason for her sadness. She listens to Carry the Caterpillar’s advice to eat vegetables and slowly sees the changes in her size. The more vegetables she ate, the more she grew. Fairies and butterflies do not bump into her anymore and Teensy is a happy fairy.

The story is delightful and it encourages children to eat healthily and include vegetables in their diet so that they grow bigger and healthier. Apart from eating vegetables, what I liked about the story is how it gives a bit of information on how some of the vegetables taste so children can decide what they want to eat. The illustrations are adorable and children will fall in love with Teensy the Fairy and Carry the Caterpillar. It is a good bedtime storybook and is an excellent tool for parents to make their children understand the importance of eating vegetables. I like the concept and the author’s idea of getting the message of eating healthily across to young readers. Children will be fascinated by the drawings of fairies, butterflies, and the caterpillar and they add to the magical feel of the story.

I bought this book for my daughter and she loved it! It is such a great story with great meaning behind it as well. I highly recommend adding this book to your child's collection, it is worth every penny to buy the actual book the illustrations are darling. On top of everything the author Claressa Swenson is amazing. She signed my daughters book and really took time to talk with her and made her feel special!

This book turned out to be the favorite of my daughters (4 and 6) in the three we read by this author. I was happy to see the range Claressa Swensen has when we moved into this book. This story was not rhyming. The main character named Teensy was displeased with her size.

I thought that I knew the direction this story was going and it threw me a little curveball. How fun to still get surprises from a children’s book at my (slightly older) age. The story encourages eating vegetables and it actually packs a nice bit of info on the different tastes.

Again I have to take a moment to give the illustrator a pleased shout out. My girls fell in love with the fairy drawings, the caterpillar, and the butterflies. We were pretty excited by this book.
I received a free copy for my honest review

Cute little story with the excellent moral I'm always trying to talk to my son about: EAT YOUR VEGGIES! Cute illustrations and a story and characters my kids liked.

This was mine and my daughters favorite of the three we read by this author. I love how it tells kids not all veggies have the same taste! It got her to try some new ones and she learned that she loves carrots!
