Moly, an abandoned dog, was taken to the Maricopa County animal care shelter on the border of Tempe and Mesa. When Moly got there, her calm and well-behaved nature caught the attention of members of the Falcone Foundation, a secret lab facility that later adopted her. Moly won the hearts of her new foster parents. Soon enough, everybody loved Moly. Moly still had a lot of things to learn and a few bad habits to drop, but she was a fast learner. Now, the real reason Moly was adopted was to be the subject of a time travel experiment. Would Moly accomplish this, or would she disappoint her owners? Find out in this interesting children's book titled The Adventures of Moly, the Time Traveling Dog, written by David Alyn Gordon and illustrated by Valeria Leonova.

The colorful cover of this book is the first point of attraction for every child to read the book. It is also an opportunity to tell the young reader about the costumes and heritage of a particular culture. I love the happy and soothing tone in which this book was written. The narrative contains words that can serve as a great source of vocabulary improvement for young readers. The Adventures of Moly, the Time Traveling Dog by David Alyn Gordon exposes youngsters to the Aztec civilization, hence broadening their horizons and giving them new knowledge. The beautiful illustrations by Valeria Leonova perfectly depict the story. I recommend this book to children between the ages of 3 and 6.

The Adventures of Moly, The Time Traveling Dog is a heartwarming and whimsical tale centered around Moly, a lovable rescued beagle-terrier mix that unexpectedly becomes a time-traveling dog. David Alyn Gordon introduces young readers to Moly’s journey from the Maricopa County Animal Shelter to her new life with Director Ferrara, who works at a secret lab at Arizona State University. Through clever storytelling, Moly’s natural charm and curiosity lead her to embark on historical adventures, like traveling to the Aztec civilization to capture moments in time with her collar camera.

David Alyn Gordon crafts a narrative that combines the joy of pet ownership with the thrill of historical exploration. His writing is simple yet engaging, making the book a fun and educational experience for young readers. Moly’s character, with her playful antics and courageous spirit, brings warmth to the story, while Valeria Leonova’s vibrant illustrations further enhance the read, adding a visual layer to the adventure. One of my favorite moments is Moly’s visit to Teotihuacan, where she witnesses daily life and even catches the attention of an Aztec priest. I love the "collar camera." The seamless blend of historical facts and fictional twists makes the story entertaining and informative. Beyond the historical aspects, the book portrays the bond between Moly and her owner, emphasizing the loyalty and trust that grows between them. The Adventures of Moly, The Time Traveling Dog is a perfect read for children and animal lovers. It's a story that will inspire curiosity in young minds, making it a valuable addition to any child's reading list.

Moly is a rescue dog, a Beagle Terrier. She lived on the streets, drinking water from sprinklers and finding food in garbage bins. It was a sad life for her. In David Alyn Gordon’s The Adventures of Moly, The Time Traveling Dog, Moly is rescued and trained to be a time-traveling dog. Her first adventure takes her back in time to Teotihuacan, the capital city of the Aztecs. There are workers, children, and priests congregating in the large square. Moly wanders around and attracts the attention of one of the workers. The priest notices the workers admiring Moly and worries that this might be a warning from the gods. But Moly is only on a brief visit, as the time machine is programmed to bring her back to the present day. What would happen if one of the Aztecs stood in her circle as she’s transported forward in time?

David Alyn Gordon’s picture book, The Adventures of Moly, The Time Traveling Dog, is a sweet story about a rescue dog. The language is simple so young readers can easily follow along and improve their reading skills. The illustrations are bright, bold, and colorful and add another dimension to the story. The plot follows Moly’s rescue, training, and her first trip back in time. This time travel fantasy is entertaining and educational as young readers will learn about rescue dogs as well as some interesting facts about the Aztecs. And the story’s not over yet, as Moly will soon be going on another time travel adventure. I wonder where she’ll end up next.
