The Algorithm of Us by S. Page is set in Deltara, a city where an AI called EVE matches every citizen with their supposed soulmate. No dating, no choice; people just get a name delivered straight to their vision feed. Zora is a data scientist who helped build the very system now running her life. Things start to change when she is matched with Orion Devix, a man with a near-perfect compatibility score. The problem is that she's already fallen for someone else, a mysterious man named Micah from the Unmapped Zones. It is an area completely outside EVE's control, making him a little more interesting and attractive. As Zora's feelings for Micah deepen, she starts uncovering unsettling cracks in the system she helped create. These things could unravel not just her own love life, but the foundation of the entire society built around EVE's word being law.
S. Page made sure her readers were hooked from the very beginning. It's such a clever, unsettling way to open a story about love with zero say in the matter. Zora is an incredible protagonist. She is sharp and logical but clearly longs for something the algorithm can't measure. Micah brings such a great mysterious energy too, and every scene between them sizzles with the kind of chemistry EVE could never have predicted. The author does a fantastic job of building Deltara as a sleek, controlled world that feels unsettling the more you learn about it. Every scene was exciting and made me love the novel even more. I finished it in one sitting. The Algorithm of Us is a thought-provoking novel for people who love romance, science fiction, and incredible characters.
