The Angry Vacuum by Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel will teach children to control their emotions and respect the time spent using electronic devices. The story is about Laura and her brother Sid, who are on vacation in their spaceship when they suddenly perceive intense negative emotions. While researching on their computer, they discover they must go to the Children's Virtual Reality Center. The problem arose because the teacher forgot to set the timer to end the play session. This caused the children to be in an uproar and full of anger from too much time spent on electronic games. Meanwhile, the Angry Vacuum, an artificial intelligence robot, absorbs the emotions, building up so much energy that it's about to get out of control. So, Laura and Sid must use their emotion control techniques to resolve the situation.

I loved Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel's narrative because it offers an example that young readers can relate to. It helps children to understand and manage their emotions, highlighting that although playing with electronic devices is fun, excessive use is unhealthy. The story is entertaining and full of useful advice. Laura and Sid are wonderful characters who show readers how to control emotions with practical suggestions. Among them are counting to 10 or apologizing after a misunderstanding. Through the problems between the characters, children will learn to be more understanding and empathetic. They will also learn about overcoming challenges and finding solutions. In addition, I liked the images with bright colors and lovely characters, who express a wide range of emotions. The Angry Vacuum is an excellent choice for talking to children about respect and how to replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
