Who Banged the Big Bang! Trans-Scientific Mysteries by Prabha Karan is a deeply reflective exploration of life’s most primal riddles. Karan takes a bold stride beyond conventional science and into the territory of the Infinite, posing not just philosophical puzzles, but also dissecting the mechanisms of thought itself. The book traces the full sweep of human existence - from gross physicality to the fine layers of personality and consciousness - culminating in a detailed metaphysical theory of creation, causality, and what lies beyond the observable. Without ever undermining science, the author weaves Vedantic insights into scientific narratives, gradually building a scaffold for readers to reflect on their own lives through the lens of the cosmos. From Big Bangs to black holes to bliss states, Karan urges us to rethink what it means to be conscious, to know, and to be.
As a thinker and reviewer, I found Prabha Karan’s Who Banged the Big Bang! stirring in both tone and structure. There’s something singular about its ambition; a rare blending of metaphysics, physics, and personal introspection. The tone is earnest, sometimes gently didactic, but always inviting deeper reflection. It reminded me that questions like “What am I?” or “What lies beyond?” are not merely academic, but urgent and personal. Karan challenges the reader not just to know more, but to become more. And in that sense, the book achieves something uncommon: it becomes a mirror for the reader’s inquiries. Karan’s framework does not close the door on mystery; it opens it wider. I walked away with more than answers. I walked away with better questions.
