The Animal Squad and the Mystical Topax Amulet by Jan Sier involves an elite team of agents who resemble half-man and half-animal. They are undercover to capture criminals and keep our world safe. They are the AIT (Animalis International Team). However, one member, Croc, has turned wicked. He is dangerous. If no one stops him from getting the final piece of the Topax amulet, he will become invincible. To boot, Croc has some fearsome henchmen, like the notorious viper. Now, the animal squad needs to rely on their weapons of choice with their animal senses to detect threats. Still, Croc always finds a way to escape. After teaming up with new allies to assist them, will it be enough to capture Croc and save the world?
The Animal Squad and the Mystical Topax Amulet by Jan Sier has memorable characters that are scary-looking but cool and composed while fighting for justice. The striking illustrations display snapshots of the action and the mysterious half-men and half-beasts. The mission-impossible storyline with Johnny Fox as the lead character is convincing as he tries to outsmart Croc. The most thrilling part was the demise of the formidable wolf man that kept me on edge the entire time from when he first made an appearance. The story is fun to read and action-packed with suspense, drama, and humor in between high-speed vehicle chases and thrills obtained from the quick evasive maneuvers to outsmart the enemy. A bonus feature is the character bios at the end of the book.
