The thesis of this book could be future headlines. For years, humans used products that killed 99.9% bacteria. It is the .1% that became the problem. The super bacteria evolved. “The human race was running out of time. The world was about to change and human beings seemed doomed to go the way of the dinosaurs.” Dr. Adams saw the answer as a simple one and the concept of Alpha One was born. “If the world was crumbling because of biological and environmental concerns, he thought, the species needed a controlled environment, a reality in which that simply did not exist.” His answer to the crisis was a virtual world. Like all good plans, this one had flaws.

"The Ark of Adams" is an unusual story. There is a message to human kind in this tale. We are destroying ourselves and the answer does not lie in a virtual world. Greed, intrigue and evil threaten to destroy the Eden that Adams created. The characters are interesting and the plot is well done.
