The Assassin’s Kiss by JA Kazimer opens with Julie Jensen Harding-Taylor trying to get her former husband to give her an annulment. He needs to sign annulment papers for her. She brings the papers for her husband to sign in her wedding dress because she wants to marry another man. While she is attempting this, she is attacked by assassins, her husband defends her, and they escape together.

The story involves finding out who is trying to kill Julie. They have several adventures, but always escaping. Cut off from their families, they have a chance to explore their relationship. Their first attempt at marriage was cut short by Julie finding Nate in her step-sister’s arms. So this is a love story with adventures. Unknown to them, they are employees of the same spy agency. Julie is a handler/analyst, and Nate is an assassin. They have a great deal in common. Their narrow escapes while on the run show them what their initial attraction was all about.

This is a spy story with a romantic element. I enjoyed it. It is a good read for a Saturday afternoon. I like adventure while lying in my hammock, when there is a breeze and a little nip in the air. The writer has an entertaining style and I look forward to her next work because I think she will definitely expand upon her skills.
