Is The Best of Amish Friends Cookbook Collection by Wanda Brunstetter just another Amish Cookbook? Well, I guess you could say it is, but it is different from any other. The book is beautiful inside and out; the recipes are different and really fun and interesting to read. It is divided into sections to include Breakfast Foods, Snacks, Breads and Jams, Pickles and Salads, Main Dishes and Desserts, Beverages and a section for Miscellaneous foods. And this cookbook comes from one of our favorite Amish fiction authors, Wanda Brunstetter. Now we not only have her wonderful Amish fiction to read, we have a cookbook with Amish foods along with real life information and pictures about the Amish people. You will not want to miss this one.

All of these recipes sound so awesomely good! I tried a few of them; the Low Sugar Strawberry Freezer Jam, Amish Peanut Butter Spread, Hot Chicken Salad, and a few others, and they were easy to make and the taste was mouthwatering. I have yet to try the Buckwheat Pancakes, Cheesy Potato Breakfast Casserole, and so many more recipes in this book. I plan to try my cooking hand at these and all of the other recipes that I enjoyed reading.

I really like the way Barbour Books created this cookbook, with the recipes, pictures of the recipes, the Amish information throughout the book and the Amish pictures to go with the information. The color of the pages, different color borders between recipes, the pictures dividing each section, and the format of each page are all so eye-catching and pleasant to look at that I kept going back just to admire the beauty of the layout.
