The Binary Bridges is a work of fiction in the science fiction, cyberpunk, and time travel adventure sub-genres, and was penned by author James Huber. The work is intended for the general reading audience and follows on from The Bridges series, in which we first encountered protagonists Tim and Dan. After so many intriguing journeys inside the world of technology, you’d think one more would be something simple for these tech heroes, but when time travel is involved, things take a turn for the worse. What results is a retro journey through some fantastic and fascinating technology history as our heroes discover the roots of all we take for granted today.

Author James Huber has crafted an original and engrossing work of fiction with plenty of twists and turns to offer its readers. Whilst I would certainly like to have seen a deeper development around the characters and their immersion into the innovative retro world that Huber has imagined, I did think that there was plenty of plot to keep readers speeding through to the dramatic conclusion of the work. I also really enjoyed the details and references which older readers who remember the new dawn of technology will really enjoy, and I felt these stylistic choices gave the work a great atmosphere of possibilities. The dialogue was also very effective, serving to display the unique traits of the characters whilst moving the plot forward in a natural way. Overall, I would certainly recommend The Binary Bridges as a light-hearted and action-packed adventure for fans of thrilling time travel fiction and cyberpunk everywhere.
