The Book of Aesop: Lupin by Iam Oliver throws Eric Pickles into a world of spies, danger, and secret agendas. After a shocking car explosion and an attempted kidnapping, Eric finds himself caught in a web of international conflicts, moving between London, Washington, and Russia. At the same time, romance and betrayal unfold at Ivy Gardens, where love and secrets mix in unexpected ways. As hidden projects and conspiracies come to light, the stakes keep rising, leading to twists and turns that will keep readers hooked. This second book in the series does a great job of mixing action, mystery, and relationships, building on what was started in the first book while keeping things fresh and exciting.
Iam Oliver does a fantastic job of blending spy action, romance, and sci-fi genres without letting any take over the story. The characters—whether spies, lovers, or both—are realistic, each with their own goals and struggles that make their choices feel natural rather than forced. The way the different storylines come together is impressive, making each twist surprising but also like it was meant to happen. One thing that stood out to me was the pacing—there’s plenty of action, but there are also moments that let the emotional weight of everything sink in. The book also weaves in political themes, adding depth without slowing down the adventure. Overall, The Book of Aesop: Lupin is an exciting mix of espionage, romance, and mystery that will keep readers entertained and eager for the next installment, and I would certainly recommend it to espionage fans.
