Author Biography

I have been writing short stories to share with friends and family for many years and always enjoy exploring my creativity when putting pen to paper, so I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my love of writing with others.

I love spending time with my pet dog, a Labrador x Huntaway called Smoky, teaching her tricks and taking her for walks. We live in a small town in New Zealand near many beautiful parks and beaches. I also enjoy a bit of freelance photography in my spare time, especially if it involves taking pictures of sunsets.

The Bronson Escapades is my third published book and is now the Silver Recipient of the Mom's Choice Awards honorary seal of excellence, having been named amongst the best in family-friendly media, products, and services. It is about the adventurous Bronson family, whose five children keep getting into mishaps on their farm and generally causing mayhem in the local community. Each escapade is highly humorous, while imparting important, real-life lessons to others along the way.

In Alison Bellringer’s The Bronson Escapades, five siblings, Kennedy, Chloe, Edwin, Bridget, and Al, plus their parents, are constantly in one sort of trouble or another. Even the town’s mayor can’t quite make up his mind if the siblings are a help or a hindrance. And, to top it all off, Mrs. Bronson has lost her engagement ring and everyone is required to search for it in between helping the mayor and painting the garden fence, amongst other things. Alison Bellringer’s middle-grade novel, The Bronson Escapades, is a fun ride through one adventure after another. The plot begins with the lost engagement ring and blunders through multiple escapades as the Bronson family navigates their home life and life in the community. The family is constantly in some sort of trouble, not serious, but rather annoying to some. But it’s all in good fun and there is lots of laughter as readers follow the family’s exploits. At the end of the book, there’s a list of the children and their ages and key characteristics, from Kennedy, the oldest and the key fashion guru, down to Al the youngest and the chatterbox, who talks about anything and everything. The characters are well developed and dialogue is used effectively to move the story along. Overall, a fun read.

I found myself constantly smiling at her ability to create distinct voices for each sibling while maintaining their believability as real children as the dialogue moves the plot forward at a natural pace with detail and emotion. Her light touch with important life lessons about teamwork and family loyalty makes the central message of the story feel natural rather than forced, with each youngster going on their personal journey, but also learning together from their comparison of their similarities and differences with others.
