The Buried Relic is a paranormal romance novel by Steve Lindahl. Ellie is a religious studies student pursuing a career in the ministry. She inherits a lakeside house from her estranged uncle. Despite the distance between her studies and the new house, she moves there anyhow after breaking up with her partner. Her best friend Ashley moves in with her. Ellie's life becomes reckless as a result of bad decision-making, partying, neglecting her studies, and misguided principles. Then she meets Aaron, a mystic, and develops an unexpected bond with him. Aaron also has visions, one of which was of Ellie in danger. It turns out there is a curse in the house she inherited. Furthermore, it relates to a historical mystery; she must discover where this relic is buried on her property to keep the curse from reclaiming her soul. Ideally, the relic should be returned to its rightful place to avoid a curse on others. Aaron’s friend Liam is on board, and the four are on their mission.
Steve Lindahl has woven historic personalities with a contemporary romance story between two unlikely people whose fate is connected by a supernatural force. The Buried Relic is an intriguing and mysterious novel that draws you into its supernatural plot. The lead characters have a heartwarming chemistry, and the reader can appreciate Aaron's spiritual ways in assisting Ellie to communicate with God. The captivating writing holds your attention throughout the story and piques your curiosity about the outcome. The steady plot develops in a really satisfying manner, leaving clues along the way. More compelling are some historical facts that stimulate your interest in researching them further and learning something new while enjoying a great piece of fiction. Tangled personal relationships and the conflict between free choice and outside forces are woven into a romance adventure with some mystical elements. Readers who appreciate mystery and paranormal tales with historical facts blended into smart fiction will be excited to read The Buried Relic.
