The Childfree Guide to Life and Money by Jay Zigmont is a groundbreaking financial roadmap specifically crafted for those who’ve chosen a life without children. This is an empowering personal finance book that reframes outdated life scripts and offers a fresh model in FILE, standing for Financial Independence, LIVE Early. With empathy and insight, Zigmont helps DINKs and SINKs navigate everything from budgeting and investing to career planning and retirement with a clear, values-driven approach. By introducing eight ‘No-Baby Steps,’ the guide liberates readers from assumptions and reorients them toward designing a life of freedom, purpose, and fulfillment on their own terms. Whether you're a digital nomad, a homeowner, or planning your own Golden Girls-style retirement, this book is an essential companion for childfree living done wisely and well.

Author Jay Zigmont has a way of writing that is relevant to the times we live in, and that has resulted in an insightful, inclusive, and truly definitive financial guide for the childfree community. The tone is bright and enthusiastic, with all the old-time stigma of childlessness left in the past where it belongs, for a refreshing and liberating take on personal finance that throws out one-size-fits-all advice and focuses on what you want to get out of life. I liked the organization and how ideas are built from that initial concept. The book combines practical strategies that you can apply straight off the page with empowering philosophy to design a life that works for you with positivity and productivity at the core. As a member of the childfree community myself, I found the advice invaluable in thinking outside of the traditional paths and keeping the focus on your contentment. Overall, I would recommend The Childfree Guide to Life and Money as a perfect handbook for anyone forging their path without feeling the need to be a parent.
