The Christian Faith: A Quick Guide to Understanding its Inter-Workings is a non-fiction Christian book written by Reid A. Ashbaucher. The author has served as a deacon, pulpit supply and a religious teacher, and he's obtained degrees in Comprehensive Bible and Christian Theology. In his introduction, the author indicates that his intended audience will be Christians who are new to their practice, those considering Christianity as an answer to their questions about life, and anyone else who is interested in gaining a more complete understanding of the Christian faith. Ashbaucher presents a scholarly introduction to the Bible, starting with a description of its beginnings in 1446 B.C. and continuation until 96 A.D. He discusses which books were considered to be divinely inspired and the differences in approach between the Roman Catholic church and the Protestant sects over what would be included in their Holy Scriptures. From there, he introduces the Gospel, Historical Teaching, the Canon, Inter-workings of the church and a more intensive look at the Book of Romans. He includes a study guide and extensive end notes which give links and sites for further reading.

Reid A. Ashbaucher's The Christian Faith: A Quick Guide to Understanding its Inter-Workings is a fascinating and well-presented look at the Bible and Christianity. The author presents his work in an orderly and scholarly fashion which at no time felt like he was attempting to proselytize or convince his readers to embrace his religious beliefs. His introduction to the Bible and its development over the centuries smoothly and seamlessly gave way to the most cohesive and comprehensive introduction to the Bible that I've encountered. I was especially interested in his take on Scriptural Philosophy and found his discussions of those different theological viewpoints to be most helpful in understanding what had hitherto been a confusing and misunderstood subject. I finished this book feeling more knowledgeable about the Bible in particular and Christianity in general. The Christian Faith: A Quick Guide to Understanding its Inter-Workings is most highly recommended.

The Christian Faith: A Quick Guide To Understanding Its Inter-Workings by Reid A. Ashbaucher is an engaging read that clears up confusion surrounding the Christian faith and give readers more information about the Christian faith in general. The author’s explanation about the Christian faith and how it works handles topics from the historical beginning to historical teachings of the faith, to the inter-workings of the Church to many other topics. These help individuals make spiritual decisions about bettering their lives by providing a clearer understanding of the Christian faith. Through this book, readers can explore the inter-workings of the Christian faith and learn different lessons.

The book is uplifting and it gives answers to all those who are searching for answers in their life, turning to Christianity to get those answers, and also for learning more about the Christian faith. The book is simple and easy to comprehend for anyone who wants to know more about the Christian faith, especially those who are new to the faith. God works in everyone’s life, despite the fact that within the Christian faith spiritual warfare rages between God and his powerful enemy, Satan. The book is beneficial to all those who want to know more about Christianity and make better spiritual decisions in their life as it speaks about the nature of Christianity, its origins, its fundamental principles, foundational teachings, and how it answers questions for everyday life.

The Christian Faith: A Quick Guide to Understanding its Inter-workings by Reid A. Ashbaucher opens with an explanation of the origins of the Bible, and the differences between that pertaining to Anglican worship, in its many forms, and Catholicism. The facts on which all of them depend is belief in Jesus Christ being the Son of God, and in the Holy Trinity. “The Christian Faith” is divided into six chapters, complete in themselves, but interlinked: reading the whole book is necessary for both individual understanding and preparation for debate if the book is to be used by a discussion group. Included are: Study Notes to facilitate group activities; “Endnotes” with links to more information available online, and other book titles and, more importantly, advice on what to look for when choosing which church to attend.

A confirmed Christian, I wondered what to expect of a book that promised to reveal more about my faith. Would it be of value and interest to me, or more appropriate to a new Christian, or a person either uncertain about commitment or simply academically curious? The Christian Faith: A Quick Guide to Understanding its Inter-workings is fascinating and appropriate reading for all the above mentioned potential readers. It starts with how, when and by whom the Holy Bible was written, and how the many influences, like Martin Luther, had upon the Holy Bible we know today, and four versions are recommended. Mr Ashbaucher’s most telling statement for me is this one: “a gift can only benefit someone who receives it.”
