"The Chronicles of the Mira" tells a cumulative story about a land called Loz and the feud between the Mira and the Scintillates. It does this through three short stories, each from a different character's perspective. The Scintillates and the Mira are cousins of a sort, distantly related people that got separated in course of time. The Scintillates believe themselves to be superior to their cousins and try to annihilate them through the use of wicked and dark magic. "The Chronicles" tells the stories of Autumn, Amanda, and Lily and their adventures as they struggle to reunite their two peoples while still maintaining their own friendship and values. It is a story of adventure, friendship, timeless romance, and magic.

This collection of stories is timeless. Christine Schulze has done an incredible job piecing together a work that emphasizes the importance of love, friendship, and equality. "The Chronicles" shows us life’s ups and downs through three friends’ journey to end the seemingly never ending war between their peoples. Two of the characters are somewhat contradictory sisters, conflicted by the situations they come into, which added just the right amount of drama for me. Without giving too much away, I can tell you this is an excellent read filled with valuable life lessons about war, peace, and justice. With just the right amount of adventure and conflict, mixed with the triumphs of romance, it has become a book difficult to put down. I look forward to reading more of Schulze’s works in the future.
