The Cowboy who was Scared of Horses by Michelle Path is a fun, well written children's book about a cowboy named Marty. Marty is scared of horses because he is worried that they will hurt him, and he figures he's perfectly fine on his bicycle. One day, Marty sees a poster saying that the rodeo is coming to town. Marty wants to enter, in hopes of impressing cowgirls, but he doesn't know how to ride a horse due to his fear. He places an ad in the newspaper, asking for help in learning how to ride a horse. A woman named Marjorie shows up, dressed in fancy clothes, and tells him that she's here to teach him how to ride a horse. She brings a small pony for Marty to ride. Will Marty be able to conquer his fear?

I really enjoyed reading The Cowboy who was Scared of Horses by Michelle Path. The book is very well written and descriptive. The book has some funny parts, and many exciting scenes. The book has many likeable characters, like Marty who is able to face his fear, and Marjorie, who helps him face his fear. The illustrations are very well drawn and clearly depict each scene. The pictures are also very colourful and bold. Readers will be able to relate to Marty, because many people have feared something. Parents will enjoy reading this book to their child, and children will want to read it again and again. The book is very well developed and thought out. I would definitely recommend this book to all young readers.
