In The Divide by Ethan Gray, Julia’s father is an alcoholic, and her mother is an irresponsible drug addict. One day at a shopping mall, there is a mass shooting. Julia saves her brother, but she is not so lucky. When she wakes up later, she finds out her leg has been amputated. Her heroic act at the shooting also makes her famous, and they both get a scholarship to Eminence Boarding School, which is a very prestigious institution. From the start, they are bullied by the headmaster’s daughter, who makes it clear that people do not want them there, but Julia stands up to the girl. The routines in the school are weird, and as things unfold, her brother starts to uncover strange things like secret doors and strange screams beneath his classroom. How will things turn out as secrets start to come to light?

The Divide by Ethan Gray is wonderfully written, and once you start reading, there is no putting it down. Ethan utilized suspense to great effect, which made me look forward to the events of subsequent chapters, and I loved the well-developed characters. The plot flows seamlessly, leaving no room for confusion. This thought-provoking work also covers themes such as gun violence, drugs, and fighting for what we believe in, which will resonate with many readers. The vivid descriptions of events capture readers' minds, and the easy-to-understand language used makes the work accessible to all audiences. This was a good read, and I look forward to more by Ethan Gray.

The narrator did an amazing job of bringing the book to life. The expertise is brilliant, as the narrator did not just read the book but performed it using different intonations and accents, which captured my imagination. The musical tones at the start of the chapters also added to my overall enjoyment of this amazing work.
