The Entity of Camp Devils Lake by Anthony Robert Lee Jr. Gurule is a book for horror fans, an engrossing read that will keep you awake through the night without noticing the sweat dripping from your forehead. In 2008, a group of high school students sets out on a two-week excursion to Camp Devils Lake, but what started as an exciting event quickly turns into horror, a suspenseful story with a labyrinthine plot, exploring the proverbial struggle between good and evil. When a little boy gets killed, Rodger starts an investigation, and quickly finds out that it isn’t about human beings, because the group is faced with an entity that could be out to feed on their souls. Readers will follow Rodger and a compelling cast of both mortal and supernatural characters as they become embroiled in a fight for survival, for revenge, and freedom. Can these mortals find the tools to defeat an evil as powerful as this one? It is for the reader to find out.
Anthony Robert Lee Jr. Gurule has written a story that will grip fans of horror by the heart. It is suspenseful and contains powerful elements of mystery as well. The setting is well-developed, plunging readers into a world where anything can go wrong at any moment, and a lot of things do go wrong. The characters are real and the author has a gift for making readers believe his story, making them feel as though they were part of the plot. The story is action-packed, emotionally intense, and featuring a dramatic conflict. The Entity of Camp Devils Lake is a well-crafted horror story that leaves you with goose bumps even after you have turned over the last page. The characters will haunt you.
