Robin Hillard and Matthew Gregory are attracted to each other after their first meeting in the hospital. Love soon follows. After successfully battling Matt’s ex-wife's intrusion in their lives, the couple get married and buy an old house to start their new life, together with Matt’s daughter Olivia. However, their happiness is disturbed by the spirits that haunt the house. With other life issues that the couple has to deal with, the frightening activities are starting to pull them apart. Written by Tracee Ford, The Fine Line is Volume 1 of the Between Worlds series.

The beginning chapters are important to introduce the characters, plot, and settings - as per normal. The meeting between Robin and Matt is sweet and romantic. But I have to admit that the story only began to really grab my interest when the first paranormal event occurs, involving the kitchen door. From that point on, the strange incidents in Robin and Matt’s house are frightening and keep me on high alert. On the other hand, what happened to Olivia was indescribable and I did not see that coming.

The Fine Line has everything on the paranormal checklist, plus the romance. As a fan of the genre, I am satisfied and entertained by the story. It reminds me of paranormal films or documentaries that I have seen before. I am planning to keep reading the other volumes of the Between Worlds series. I would love to see Tracee Ford’s paranormal stories on television. Overall, an excellent read.
