Maureen Donovan's plans unravel when she receives a disturbing vision of her friend Eliana. Upon further investigation, she and her husband, Mike, discover that Eliana is missing. They return to the site of their previous assignment to search for their friend, but the more they tap into their metaphysical sources for answers, the less they understand the mystery. Nancy Carpenter, a detective from the Austin PD's Missing Persons Unit, becomes interested in the case after noticing similarities between Eliana's disappearance and a prior case she worked on. Despite her reservations about using psychics to solve cases, she soon realizes that the only way forward is to collaborate with the Donovans. Only time will tell if their efforts will bear fruit before it's too late in RC and JP Carter's The Hill of Sacrificed Souls.
