Author Biography

I am a career coach, speaker and author with over 25 years experience. Through my practice, I have successfully helped clients to envision and achieve careers that are fulfilling and personally enriching. Previously, I served as Associate Director of Career Services at the University of Pennsylvania where I created and led the Wharton Career Discovery seminar and served as liaison to recruiters from major corporations. I have been published in Business Insider, Huffington Post, Psychology Today, Adirondack Life and mind body green.
As an introvert, I approach the topic of my book with understanding, compassion and some hard earned wisdom. When I first started working at UPenn, I was too shy to speak up at staff meetings. I couldn’t get attention from my new ideas and programs, let alone my accomplishments. As a result, I missed out on valuable opportunities and promotions. I knew I had to conquer my fear of self promotion if I wanted to move towards my ultimate goal of becoming and entrepreneur. As I worked on overcoming my introverted tendencies holding me back, I noticed that some of these characteristics could actually be used to my advantage. Eventually, I developed a series of successful tools specifically designed to help introverts overcome blocks to strong performance. In today’s fast-paced, unstable workplace, my book shows introverts how they can use their natural qualities to their best advantage, then add a sprinkling of extroverted skills to round out a forceful combination for ultimate career success.
