The Joyous Adventures of Whizzojack by David Bush is a superhero adventure story for kids. All eight-year-old Jack ever wanted was to be a superhero. Blessed with his father's mathematical mind and his mother's scientific analytical abilities, Jack weaves himself a superhero costume with some necessary utilities attached and becomes the superhero, Whizzojack. As immigrants from Freakyland come to Jacktown in search of a better life, it draws the ire of the former residents of Jacktown, who label the new arrivals as anti-social supervillains. Foremost amongst them is the hard-nosed and loud-mouthed editor of the local newspaper Daily Speaker, Simon S. Screamer. Now, Whizzojack takes it upon himself to bridge the colossal divide between the "supervillains" and the local populace. But each case is unique and will require Whizzojack's full use of his creativity. Can he succeed?

The Joyous Adventures of Whizzojack is a fun-filled superhero adventure story for kids that teaches them the harmful impact of inherent biases and prejudices of society and how compassion and understanding go a long way to bridge the gap between people of different cultures, languages, religions, etc. Author David Bush tells a delightful yet much-needed tale for our times where society seems to be getting increasingly divided and tribalistic. Jack is an enthusiastic eight-year-old with a vivid imagination. What makes him likable and easy to root for is his understanding that the main objective of superheroes is to help people, and they don't always need to fight to achieve their goals. Anyone who loves superhero stories will find The Joyous Adventures of Whizzojack a worthwhile investment.
