John Avery knows the Lord Jesus Christ well. His desire in writing The Kingdom of God: Our Life with Jesus the King is to share his closeness to Jesus with you. He is not our example but points us to Jesus and His Kingdom. In this study, John shares thirty-eight short devotionals. They encourage you to reflect deeply and will help you as you seek to live the Kingdom life. You are one of those Jesus invites to join Him in this life. We must remember that Jesus cares about people who are needy and hurting. Divided into four groups, each group involves growing closer to Jesus. If you desire to grow in your walk with Christ and become more Christ-like, this devotional study is for you.
Have you been looking for a workable and easy-to-understand definition of belief? If so, look no further. In The Kingdom of God, John Avery gives one of the best and simplest explanations of faith I have ever read. Avery writes: "Belief, or faith, means accepting His claims and then responding to those claims wholeheartedly.” Avery’s style of writing is easy to understand. He avoids or explains terms known as 'Christianese' which include the likes of the gospel, saved, lost, etc. As you read and contemplate each devotional, you will be drawn closer to Jesus. I have been a minister for over forty years and have read many devotionals. John has written one of the best devotionals I have ever read. You have found your roadmap if you desire to understand and live the Kingdom life.
