The Know It Owl and the Otter is part of a new series by children’s author Terri Sabol. The Know It Owl wants to educate everyone and dispel misconceptions about animals. Today, he’s visiting Otter. Otter is a North American river otter, and Owl is going to teach him everything he needs to know about himself, including banishing misconceptions and teaching the differences between the types of otters. Kids will learn amazing facts about these mammals through humorous dialogue between Owl and Otter, and they can even act out the two parts for themselves. Welcome to the wonderful world of otters, and learn all you need to know, thanks to the Know It Owl.

The Know It Owl and the Otter is a wonderful story by the very talented Terri Sabol, coupled with stunning illustrations by Paula Piechna. In this educational book, kids can follow the Know It Owl as he attempts to correct misconceptions about animals, in this case, the river otter from North America. It is informative—I learned a lot—and there are activities scattered throughout for kids to do to help cement their understanding and make learning fun. At the back of the book, kids will find a drawing exercise and learn where the river otter is on the list of endangered species. I hope that, like Terri’s other books, this will foster a sense of responsibility in younger readers to preserve what is left of our natural kingdom and help it thrive. This is the perfect book for caregivers to read to kids at any time of day, but it should also be included as part of the reading syllabus in every school.

The Know It Owl and the Otter follows the adventures of two adorable friends. Written by Terri Sabol, this children's picture book opens with Otter introducing himself as someone who is native to Antarctica. However, the wise old Owl is quick to correct his friend's mistake by telling him what "Otter Oughta Know." Otters are actually found on every continent except Antarctica and Australia. Owl also reveals that Otter's particular species belongs to North America. One by one, Owl corrects other misconceptions Otter used to have about his species. These include why otters have four short legs, the secret behind their long and straight tails, what their two coats signify, how much sleep they need in a day, where they sleep, their special eyesight, and much more.

The Know It Owl and the Otter is an educational book that is also a lot of fun to read. Tailor-made for young readers, this picture book entertains as well as teaches some fascinating facts about otters that children are going to love reading about. Featuring only two speaking characters, both animals with lively personalities, the narrative is funny and charming while being informative from start to finish. Author Terri Sabol has a knack for writing children's books that are thoroughly engaging, and this one is no exception. Additionally, Paula Piechna's colorful illustrations are the cherry on top. The artwork will keep the attention of young readers. In conclusion, if you're looking for an engrossing picture book for your child that also educates, you won't go wrong with this one!

In The Know It Owl and The Otter, we are introduced to two adorable animals. First, we meet the Otter who thinks he knows all about himself and his fellow otters because that’s exactly what he is. The Know It Owl, however, disagrees with many of the statements made by the other animal. When Otter tells the reader that his kind is native to Antarctica, Know It Owl corrects him by telling him that they are, in fact, not located anywhere near the frozen continent. From there, the brilliant owl gives us the right facts, and Otter has to admit that his bird friend knows more than he does. Together, we learn some interesting facts about otters that you might not have known before.

Terri Sabol did a wonderful job of writing The Know It Owl and The Otter. I thought this was a fun and witty book. I’ve always been that know-it-all who has to correct wrong facts. Otter might be wrong with his facts about his own kind, but he’s just so adorable! I loved the illustrations. They are so beautiful and fit with the storyline perfectly. The bright and detailed pictures will definitely keep a young child’s attention, as well as the fun plot that goes with it. It was an entertaining read; not to mention, I picked up a few facts about otters that are new to me. I will be keeping a lookout for more great books from Sabol.

The Know It Owl and the Otter, written by Terri Sabol and illustrated by Paula Piechna, is a humorous and enlightening addition to children’s literature. This delightful story is part of the larger Know It Owl Series, which is dedicated to educating young readers about wildlife through engaging narratives and vibrant illustrations. In this installment, Owl, known for his wisdom and wit, visits Otter, a charismatic North American River Otter with some amusingly incorrect beliefs about his species. The narrative cleverly unfolds as Owl corrects Otter’s misconceptions with factual, educational tidbits, making learning fun. For example, Otter learns that his species doesn’t sleep on their backs in the water, a behavior typical of sea otters. They are found on every continent except Australia and Antarctica, and not in Antarctica as Otter initially thought.

The book integrates interactive elements, such as measurements using colored pencils, and playful challenges like helping Otter navigate to find fish. These activities are designed to enhance learning and actively engage the young reader in Otter’s journey of discovery. The Know It Owl and the Otter stands out in its commitment to conservation education. It encourages respect and awareness for animal species and their natural habitats. The book’s blend of factual accuracy, engaging storytelling, and interactive learning makes it a commendable choice for young readers. Parents will appreciate the book’s dual role in entertaining and educating, making it a valuable addition to any young reader’s collection. As part of The Know It Owl Series, this book promises more adventures where Owl will continue to spread knowledge and joy among the animal kingdom, making it a series to look forward to for more enlightening tales.

The Know It Owl and the Otter is a delightful children’s story in The Know It Owl Series by Terri Sabol. This book focuses on the North American River Otter through the jibes and wit of the Know It Owl as he playfully corrects the otter’s misconceptions about his origin, habitat, and even his physical characteristics. The intelligent owl covers everything from the otter’s body (legs, double fur coat, and tail) to its habits (sleeping, grooming, and hunting). Children will likely find both characters equally adorable and hilarious. With every incorrect statement that the otter confidently and innocently makes, the owl becomes more irate and incredulous, which is quite funny. Join this fact-checking fanatic owl on his latest endeavor to educate us and debunk common myths.

In this cute and informative picture book, Terri Sabol exposes young readers to several interesting facts about the North American River Otter. Children will learn tidbits about the otter species through the fascinating dialogue between the otter and the owl. The Know It Owl and the Otter also contains many interactive elements. This includes drawings of little colored pencils to indicate the size of things, as well as activities such as a maze of logs, which takes young readers through which four types of foods otters eat. Paula Piechna’s quirky illustrations also add dimension to the story, particularly through the Know It Owl’s ridiculous expressions. Together, these features reinforce the book's educational value and guarantee youngsters a unique read.
