The Learn It All Leader: Mindset, Traits and Tools is an informative book by Damon Lembi. It is written for those who want to develop a leadership mindset. It consists of two parts, namely Being and Doing, with a conclusion at the end. In his introduction, Lembi shares that great leaders are not born or made; they’re in the making. As such, the ideal leader is not afraid of failure because they never stop learning. He discusses topics like Go All In, Assume Nothing, Wonder Why, Do the Right Thing, Take Risks and Make Decisions, Build Great Teams, Play to Win, and Coach Your Team. I found the summary at the end of the chapters very helpful as they recap the topic discussed.
Damon Lembi’s The Learn It All Leader is an engaging read. Drawing from Lembi's experiences as a baseball player and over two decades of leading a learning company, he encourages us to develop a learning leader's mindset. The various anecdotes and examples discussed were enjoyable and authentic as he offered advice and insights. Focusing on progress and experience, it is a well-structured, enlightening, and easy read. The importance of building a solid team is emphasized. Ultimately, Lembi reveals several techniques and practical tools that offer valuable lessons for business executives and those just starting out in their chosen careers. It is highly recommended.
