Each and every person has a light inside them, and The Love Light explores this idea through magical illustrations and a sweet storyline. Each person is different on the outside, and their life experiences are not going to be the same, but their light inside will shine in the good times and dim in the not-so-good times. What do you do when your light dims, though? Is there any hope of getting it to shine bright again? The main character struggles with this until she stops and listens to her heart, realizing that her light is still present, even when it’s not as strong. Stephanie Mund’s The Love Light is a book that every child should pick up at some point!
What a whimsical little story! The Love Light was a wonderful read with the most adorable illustrations. Each page was vibrant, full of colors that were instantly captivating and engaging. Our main character, although she is unnamed, was relatable, and I think she will be able to especially connect with young children. This book embraces the idea that we are all imperfect, yet we still have good inside us that can shine. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely read it with my little cousins or children someday. I would recommend The Love Light by Stephanie Mund to all young children and their families; it’s the perfect book to read together, as it prompts some great discussions about the light within all our hearts.
