Author Biography

William Robinson is an American citizen who is deeply concerned about the direction the country has been heading in since the ascendancy of Donald J. Trump on the national political scene. As a person who has always had a keen interest in history, politics and current events, Mr. Robinson watched the awe-inspiring rise of President Barack H. Obama and was very much encouraged and hopeful for the future of the United States in areas such as race relations, women's rights, climate change and nuclear weapons proliferation, to name a few. As the presidential election of 2016 approached, it appeared that the Country was moving forward in the assumed continued journey towards making America a more perfect Union. Then, the unthinkable happened; Donald Trump (with the unquestionable assistance of Vladimir Putin and the Russians) was elected as the 45th president of the United States. Since Trump's inauguration, the country has been on a downward spiral in all of the areas that Robinson had been so hopeful for further improvement. Extremely distressed about the Country's present malaise, Mr. Robinson, through this volume of the Malignant Presidency, seeks to impart hope, satire, comedy and a call to action as we near the election of 2020!!!

The Malignant Presidency (Volume 1) Donald Trump's White House Set to Satirical First Person Poetry by William Robinson is a hilarious, cleverly written collection of satirical first person poems, from Trump, to Clinton, Obama, and a host of others of notoriety. These poems come across as a celebrity roast with President Donald Trump as the guest of honor. Each poem has the title followed in parentheses by the poet's last name(s), except where otherwise indicated, beginning with Trump's "I Hate Obama," "Red Hat Army," and "Screw Me 2." During this collection of roast-like poems, I quickly realized that these verses read like rap songs.

Mr. Robinson did an outstandingly stellar job of creating the theme with his introduction. This group of satiric poems is laced with in your face profanity and no holds barred racism. I found my self laughing out loud to many of the verses. The entourage of guest poets, Giuliani, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Putin, to name a few, brutally abused President Trump with clever insults directed to whatever their issues were with him, his extramarital affairs, and huge ego. Trump, in turn, gave it right back the way that he would on both the national and worldwide scale, much like the events that were behind closed doors. I was entertained on all levels. I can highly recommend The Malignant Presidency (Volume 1) as a book to be read out loud at anti-Trump rallies. The rap style poetry was just brilliantly written and laugh out loud funny. Bravo!

The Malignant Presidency: Donald Trump’s White House Set to Satirical First Person Poetry is a whimsical and extremely irreverent collection of poems satirizing the Donald J Trump Presidency, from the pen of William Robinson. Although very short, the volume is jam-packed with derogatory and critical poetry covering the lead-up to and the first two years of Trump’s presidency. Most of the poems are written from the perspective of Trump, in the first person, although there are a smattering of others from the major players; e.g. Obama, Clinton, Comey and Giuliani. The collection is perhaps as up to date (at the moment) as we can possibly expect with much of the uproar and angst of 2018 recorded in verse. Unapologetically a Trump derider, there is nothing in this collection that would excite or inspire his base, but it does “poke the borax” at the situation in a way that many politicians (from both sides of the aisle) probably wish they were able to do.

As a interested bystander, someone who is not an American, but who has been caught up in the daily “soap opera” (on television and in print) that emanates from this White House, I found The Malignant Presidency to be a brave attempt to put a satirical spin on what is possibly a “clear and present danger” to the United States and, indeed, the Free World. The volume is way too short and it seemed like just as I was getting into William Robinson’s style and rhythm when sadly it was all over. I note this is Volume 1, so I’m sure we can expect more from this author as the presidency moves inexorably into its second half and potentially into deep, dark and uncharted waters. I can’t help but feel the author was using this medium to allow himself to vent and release some of the intense frustrations that over half the population clearly feels at the direction of this president and the country as a whole. I share the author’s concerns and await the next two years with considerable trepidation. Robinson pulls no punches in this exposition, so if you are easily offended you may want to give it a miss, but seriously, I would urge all MAGA and Trump supporters to read and reflect on it. You may pause for a moment to question the man’s real motivations in this presidency and, if you do, the author has probably succeeded in his mission.

The presidency of DJ Trump has been filled with controversy and news headlines, even before he entered the White House. This collection of poems, The Malignant Presidency (Volume I) by William Robinson, takes a tongue in cheek and provocative look at his term in office so far. Subjects covered include Trump's relationship with Giuliani, Putin, Comey and Kushner. There are also references to the Russians' involvement in the election and Kayne West’s support of Trump. Discover what Trump may think of his 'Red Hat Army’ of followers and the numerous affairs he allegedly has had. Why did he demand that Obama reveal his birth certificate and what does he really think of Clinton? No-one escapes scrutiny or mockery in this thought-provoking, comical, satirical look at the 45th president of the United States.

This book of poetry has been very cleverly written and covers many of the shocking episodes of Trump's presidency. The author has achieved an impressive and detailed account of this controversial character. The choice of words was very powerful to make the reader reflect on the subject matter. I experienced many different emotions while reading the poems, from laugh out loud with ‘Two of a Kind’ and ‘Small Balls (Clinton)', to shock and horror from the knowledge that some of the topics were taken from true life events. The verses are inventive and ingenious, and the author has captured Trump's personality traits perfectly. 'Malignant Narcissist' and 'Election Rigging (Obama)', truly made me uneasy. A perfect book for anyone who is interested in the history of the United States, as I am sure Trump's leadership will be remembered and discussed for many years to come.
