The Peace Guidebook by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino and Dr. Katie Eastman invites readers into an intentional practice of cultivating peace from the inside out. Framed as a practical roadmap for personal and collective transformation, the book is organized around three overarching themes: Hope, Healing, and Harmony. Within these sections, the authors introduce ten principles of peace, including Presence, Potential, Patience, Practice, Passion, Purpose, Positivity, Perseverance, Partnership, and, ultimately, Peace. Each chapter presents “Peace Points,” reflective stories, and guided exercises to help readers integrate calm, compassion, and clarity into everyday life. Rather than positioning peace as a distant political ideal, the authors ground it in daily choices made at kitchen tables, in workplaces, on social media, and in families. Drawing on their professional backgrounds in coaching, leadership, and psychology, they share personal anecdotes along with stories from others who have navigated hardship, grief, uncertainty, and growth.

Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino and Dr. Katie Eastman write in a conversational yet purposeful tone that balances warmth with structure. The pacing moves steadily, alternating between narrative storytelling and actionable exercises. Their use of brief personal stories grounds complex emotional concepts in lived experience, and the repetition of key phrases reinforces the central message without feeling heavy-handed. The “Peace Points” function as memorable anchors, while the reflection sections provide tangible entry points for readers who appreciate guided self-inquiry. The Peace Guidebook will appeal to readers interested in personal growth, leadership development, faith-informed reflection, and community building. Coaches, educators, team leaders, and discussion groups will find the format particularly useful because each chapter naturally lends itself to conversation. Those who appreciate structured self-development books with a spiritual undertone and a focus on practical application will find the book both motivating and thoughtfully organized.

The Peace Guidebook by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino and Dr. Katie Eastman is a well-written book that offers readers a practical guide to developing inner peace, particularly in times of crisis and uncertainty. This book is divided into three parts: Hope, Healing, and Harmony, which extensively discuss the 10 principles of peace. Elizabeth and Katie begin by encouraging readers about how this book can be helpful to them and how they can use it. Presence, which is the first principle of peace, emphasizes the need to show up with a peaceful presence, regardless of the external noise and circumstances. For this to be possible, self-awareness becomes crucial to reclaim peace, pause for space and grace, acknowledge what disrupts your peace, and be compassionate. Other principles of peace explained in this book include potential, patience, practice, passion, purpose, and more.

I used to be impatient and easily stressed; however, lessons from this book transformed every aspect of my life, particularly my relationship with people. The fourth principle of peace meant so much to me, as I have learned to stop, breathe, think, and respond when I feel stressed. I commend the authors for sharing their stories and those of others. This made me connect with the book better and made it more inspiring to me. I also loved the exercises and points to ponder at the end of each chapter. These made the contents more engaging. This book was very detailed, paced properly, and easy to comprehend. The main themes it covers are self-awareness, positivity, emotional healing, personal transformation, and many more. I recommend The Peace Guidebook by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino and Dr. Katie Eastman to anyone seeking peace and healing, whether physically, mentally, or emotionally.

The Peace Guidebook by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino and Dr. Katie Eastman isn't the kind of book that promises a magic wand to fix your life; instead, it offers a grounded, step-by-step map for finding quiet in the middle of all the noise. While it is split into three main sections—Hope, Healing, and Harmony—its real strength lies in the eighty "Peace Points" discussed throughout. These short reflections show you how to practice peace right where you are, covering everything from finding your purpose to simply learning how to be present. Elizabeth and Dr. Katie share honest stories from their own lives and include "Stories from the Heart," such as those of emergency doctors and psychologists, to show how peace works in the real world. It feels less like a textbook and more like a supportive workbook you can pull off the shelf whenever things start to feel overwhelming.

I appreciated the down-to-earth writing style, as Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino and Dr. Katie Eastman tackle heavy subjects like grief, conflict, and constant worry in a way that is approachable. The book has a thoughtful flow; it starts with inner awareness and slowly widens its lens to include your relationships and the world at large. Instead of letting me just read and move on, the Points to Ponder and exercises like the Peace Reset forced me to stop and think about my own patterns. As someone who tends to overthink, I found their concept of being "calm-ish" and learning how to recover when you lose your center much more realistic than the usual perfect zen advice found elsewhere. The Peace Guidebook is a compassionate, steady guide that recognizes how finding peace is a practice, not a destination.
