The Pretty Girl (Raven Archives) by Seymour Youngblood is a wonderful book for children. Pelham is a troubled girl and she has had her fair share of playground bullies from a young age. She does not think of herself as pretty, but if only she would look inside of herself then her beauty would shine through. One day, everything changes when Pelham discovers a mirror. This mirror, however, is no ordinary mirror. It is a magic mirror as Pelham quickly finds out. She cannot believe her luck as she makes her wishes come true again and again. She then embarks on a journey of self discovery, but she will have to learn not to abuse the power or it will have disastrous consequences.
Seymour Youngblood delivers a wonderful fantasy adventure for children in The Pretty Girl. This story was gripping yet so lovely. If only things like this really happened - now that would be amazing. It was wonderfully written in a way that lured the reader into this fantastic world of fantasy. The main character Pelham is unique as I think most people would be able to relate to her one way or the other throughout their lives. I was lost within the pages of this amazing little book and I am certain that children everywhere would love this tale, too. For me, the plot and the sequence of events had more depth than the average kids' book and that is what makes this story all the more special. I would highly recommend this to all children everywhere.
