Rarely does a book come along that so captivates me that I know without a doubt it is the beginning of a new phenomenon. The Questory of Root Karbunkulus is that book. I know without a doubt this book will capture the interest of readers and develop a large following.

It is not fair to compare The Questory of Root Karbunkulus to Harry Potter, (as many reviewers have done) for I feel it surpasses that series. Kamilla Reid has created a world where a wisteria serves as a look out for her owner and magic abounds. A true challenge for an author is to see the landscape in their mind and adequately paint a word picture conveying that landscape. Reid did not do this adequately; she did it superbly!

Like many classic stories, Root Karbunkulus is on a quest. However, this is not your typical tale. Root is a multifaceted character--strong, loving, and intelligent. Along her journey, she meets many friends; each one has a distinct voice. I cannot say enough good about this book. This is epic movie material. This is classic. This is sure to please both young teens and adults.

Root Karbunkulus is a totally fun fantasy-adventure with popping images, vivid descriptions, heart-warming characters, and imaginative details. Well written! I just loved reading it! And I can't wait for the next book to come out! I definitely recommend this book because not only is it thoroughly entertaining as a story, but it also taps into some very interesting archetypal ideas on a deeper level. A great read for any child or adult.

If you are going through Harry Potter withdrawals this teen fantasy is for you. I stayed up to late and got up to early to finish it. I was unable to put it down until the end and then I wanted more.

It seems that every young adult fantasy has the girl in the supporting role. So it is great to see a strong, creative, capable girl as the main character.

I found this book to be a thrilling read. I can't wait for book 2 and read about the further adventures of Root and her team.

I just finished reading the book this morning and I loved it! I think it is better than Harry Potter. I can't wait for the second "quest"
