The Reunion by Patt Fero is a chick lit novel that would appeal most to a diverse audience of young adults and adults who enjoyed the author’s first novel titled www.queenmotorhome.com. Best friends Leslie and Liz have decided to break out the Silver Queen Screamer for their fortieth high school reunion on Georgia's Jekyll Island. What should have been a relaxing drive takes a turn for the worse with a tropical storm, a flat tire, and the possibility of a stalker. Will the duo make it to their reunion or will their trip be over before the reunion even begins?
The Reunion by Patt Fero is a well-written story filled with baby boomer humor and drama. This is not just a story filled with laughs and drama, but also a story filled with self-discovery and friendship. I read this book without first reading www.queenmotorhome.com and I ended up regretting this as I feel like I missed out on a lot of laughs. However, not reading the first book did not in any way hinder my understanding or enjoyment of this book. My favorite part of the story was when the two women discovered what was really going on with the window washer man as it made me chuckle at how the situation worked out. Leslie was my favorite character because I really liked her take-charge attitude. In addition, I felt like I could sympathize with the burnout feeling she was experiencing at work and her desire to just run away from everything. Overall, I greatly enjoyed this book and I plan to read the first book in the series soon!
