The Santa Club by Kelly Moss is a real find for Christian families wanting to know how to answer the question of whether or not Santa is real. It is a question which is presented to thousands of parents each year, and now, the author provides a kind, gentle and sincere answer which will please any parent.
In order to be able to join the Santa Club, children (and adults as well) must first answer two questions: 1) Is there a Santa Claus? and 2) Is Santa real? There is then a discussion about why Christmas is celebrated and how the idea of gift giving originated. St. Nicholas is identified as the first Santa, and the author then proceeds to tell children how, when they are ready, they may also join the Santa Club by vowing to give gifts from the heart, without the expectation of getting anything in return. The author also stresses that those new to the Santa Club must not give away their secrets to younger children so as to ruin the Santa image for those who unconditionally believe.
This is a charming story which should be in every Christian household with young children. It is perfect for a family reading so that discussions may ensue following the reading. The child for whom the message is meant may then elect to join the Santa Club and become an active member in keeping alive the original message of Christmas.
