"The Secret of the Old Stone Chapel" takes place around 1861. When her abusive husband signed up for the Civil War, Hannah was left to raise her three children alone. Life wasn’t easy, but she learned to take care of herself and her children. He didn’t bother to return to her after the war ended. Hannah learned to make her own way in life with her children and she was doing rather well. Bartell, her husband, had moved to the Midwest. After an accident left him crippled, he decided to return home. His homecoming was just one of the secrets of the Old Red Bridge.

How could anyone dislike this story! Hannah proved that you can go on when you think that all is lost. She made a good life out of tragedies. She is an inspiration.

This book is well written. The plot is fascinating, well developed, and entertaining. The characters come to life. I know this is fiction but I can’t help but feel that there is fact behind the story. Cora A. Seaman is a master story teller. I met her at an book writers` event. She is just as inspiring as her books.
