The Show Must Go On is the first novel in the Robert Dart Thrillers series by Jonathon Kelley. The story follows Robert Dart, a seasoned agent of the International Cyber Security Service (ICSS). His latest mission started when he was dispatched to investigate a cyberattack at a defunct Soviet nuclear facility. What seems at first to be a theft of uranium quickly spirals into a globe-trotting mission, uncovering a web of deception, AI manipulation, and a conspiracy that threatens to ignite World War III. As Dart races against time, he must confront both the ghosts of his past and the terrifying prospect of a future dominated by rogue AI while racing to prevent a global catastrophe.
Author Jonathon Kelley created a fast-paced, suspenseful story that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The stakes are high from the first chapter and escalate with each one. I loved how the narrative blends the urgency of classic spy thrillers with contemporary anxieties about AI and cybersecurity. Robert Dart is a compelling protagonist. He is sharp, flawed, and haunted by his past. I loved how his emotional struggles were just as highlighted as the global tension in the story. The dialogues are fantastic, they are crisp, and the background setting is incredible. The Show Must Go On promises readers an incredible story. It is perfect for fans of espionage and conspiracy thrillers, and keeps the readers hooked to the story until the very end. I highly recommend this riveting novel!
