Parents, relatives and neighbors looking for a nice, affordable gift for a child will love The Snowman's Revenge. With colorful, full-page illustrations and a rhyming scheme that will bring Dr. Seuss to mind, Mark Smythe brings to life this early grade school story of a snowman who is not amused, not in the least, when children make him complete with hat, scarf, and jacket, then leave him outside while they go indoors where it's warm and snug. The snowman goes indoors, intending to give the children a good scare, but ends up melting while they lie asleep in their beds, oblivious to his plans of revenge.

The Snowman's Revenge is a well-written, well-edited paperback picture book of a slightly evil snowman that grade school children will love. That the snowman left behind might come to life is every child's dream, and Mike Motz's full page, colorful illustrations capture a slightly miffed snowman and his glittering, angry eyes. This is a book that is fun for all as it begins, "Snow on the trees and on the ground it lay, there would be no school on that cold, snowy day." Teachers will love reading this to young elementary school classes as the snow begins to fall. It's guaranteed that a child or two, or maybe more, who receive this book as a gift will put their copy under their pillows while they sleep, hoping for enough snow to fall to build a snowman that might just come alive.
