With a large part of their compound destroyed by fire, Sandy, Michael and the group living in the Motel have to move on to a safer location. Taking along new group members as well as the Parata Tribe, Sandy leads the survivors south to locate a refuge they can turn into a new city that will become the home of a renewed civilization. The trail is hard with earthquake-destroyed roads, overgrown bush and the ever present danger of infected pigs, zombies and gangs, but teamwork and determination keep them moving forward. The Survivors Book III: Winter by V.L. Dreyer continues with the trials and tribulations of the group as Sandy matures into a solid leader, willing to do anything to protect her friends and any new people that are found along the way. Facing unexpected hardships balanced by surprise blessings makes the trip difficult but certainly worth it as new friends and old find comfort together as their strength grows with numbers and a will to survive.
Even though this is Book III, it is still possible for a reader to pick it up, follow the action and thoroughly enjoy the story. This group of survivors has a lot to learn but also a lot to teach as they rediscover the benefits of team work and setting goals. Well written and full of heartbreak as well as humor, The Survivors Book III: Winter by V.L. Dreyer captures your interest and holds it hostage as you turn pages to see what happens next. The action is gripping while the emotions of the characters have you laughing, crying and cheering right along with them. The Survivors series is entertaining, exciting and certainly worth the time to read and enjoy.
