The System of Substance: Origin of Mystery by X.E. Anomaly is an epic blend of fantasy and science fiction set on the planet Deluuvius, where an asteroid crash unleashes immortal alien horrors. These abominations, created by the enigmatic Three, spread chaos across the planet. Thousands of years later, Dash, a courageous wanderer, sets out on a perilous quest to uncover the origins of the Three and their monstrous creations. Braving haunted wastelands, Dash must solve ancient mysteries to confront the alien threat before it consumes his world. With its blend of cosmic horror and fantasy adventure, this book offers a stunning and surreal journey through time and space.

Author X.E. Anomaly offers a novel that is as enigmatic and mysterious as their name suggests, bringing readers into a richly detailed world with a hauntingly atmospheric and immersive series of places and people. The story is truly epic in scale, which can be hard to capture, but the author's knowledge of the most unusual links between science fiction and traditional fantasy elements results in a unique and unpredictable narrative that creates new and exciting parallels that I've never seen before. There's a truly chilling sense of dread and mystery that is well-developed in the narration. This comes through both in the confident, secret-keeping tone of the prose as well as the sinister and enjoyably dark dialogue of the characters around our hero. Dash himself is a compelling figure that has all the traits of a true hero, but he's also steeped in vulnerability and relatable fears so that readers are drawn to him all the more. Overall, The System of Substance: Origin of Mystery is a highly recommended read for fans of epic sci-fi and fantasy tales with plenty of originality and heart.
