The "Tail" of a Trio by Katherine Scott is the story of three dogs with very different lives who came together, helped each other with unique challenges, and became best friends. Addie is the Labrador who is always playful and welcoming and the dog of a therapist. After her human noticed Addie's unique qualities, she started bringing Addie to work with her to help her patients. Rue is a dog who grew up in a happy home until her humans abandoned her. Rue eventually found a new happy home, but the trauma of abandonment and the fear of it happening again tormented her. Bee grew up in a pound until Rue's humans rescued her and brought her home to be a sibling to Rue. With Addie as their neighbor, the trio learns to be there for others when they are going through challenging times.
The "Tail" of a Trio by Katherine Scott is an engaging and heartwarming story about three dogs and how they helped each other through challenging times. Addie helped Rue and Bee deal with their past traumas while Rue and Bee used their newfound confidence and skills to uplift Addie after a hard day's work at the therapy center. Scott teaches the importance of patience and kindness and how this can transform your life and the lives of others by showing how the trio became best friends by supporting each other. I loved reading this book because it teaches children to become observant of their friends' emotional states, identify their friends' needs, and show up for them appropriately.
