The Twisted Diary: Revelations, the third book in The Twisted Diary trilogy by author Anne Roberts is a fun, exciting, and even a bit sexy conclusion to this great series, following our protagonist Kate, as she further develops her skills and her desire to investigate and reveal who Harrison really is. In the process, she also learns more about who she is, and realizes that she might never have really been able to figure that out for herself before. First, she was the perfect wife of David, and after he died and her relationship with Harrison started, did she bend herself to his will as well? Revelations ends up being a book about much more than an adult and intriguing relationship; it ends up being the path for Kate to find out who she really is.
I very much enjoyed The Twisted Diary: Revelations. I must admit, I sometimes find books written in the diary style somewhat tiresome. Having only one point of view through a whole book can get a little dull. But something about Anne Roberts’ use of this style just really, really works. Her character building, especially of Kate, is superb, and I felt almost naughty as I was reading her diary entries. Feeling as if you are peeking into another person’s secret thoughts can be a delicious thrill. The Twisted Diary: Revelations would be a great read for any person who loves to read contemporary women’s fiction, and if you like a hefty dose of intrigue mixed in, then you’ll like it even more. I certainly hope that author Anne Roberts will continue with her writing career now that this trilogy is complete. She is a talented and interesting author, a welcome addition to this genre.
