The Weapons They Use by K. J. Porter is a smooth science fiction tale that will have you biting your nails and holding your breath at the same time. Sam Jackson is a Marine and there is nothing in this world that scares him. But when he gets a cryptic message from his twin brother Seth and he finds out that his brother has committed suicide, Sam is scared. Spurred on by the urge to find out what really drove his brother to suicide, Sam tries to locate Karma Taylor whom Sam knew. However, Karma is saying aliens are real and they are abducting people for their nefarious plans. No one believes this and no one in their right mind would. However, Sam has to change his mind when he himself is gravely injured and he has no option but to believe the impossible. Are aliens really preying on innocent and unsuspecting humans? Can he stop this horrible nightmare before it is too late?
The Weapons They Use by K. J. Porter had my heart racing and got my interest from the moment I started reading it. Sam’s need to find the truth and understand why and how his brother committed suicide was enough of a reason to keep reading on, but the mystery behind Karma was what sealed the deal for me. I wanted to know if what she was saying was true or not and what Sam will do with that knowledge. The action was intense and it was jam-packed right from the beginning. I enjoyed their banter, the sarcastic retorts they threw at each other, and how they learned to work as a team for the betterment of the world. I hope this is a first in a series because I can see Sam and Karma becoming a macho alien-fighting duo. This book is absolutely fantastic!
