In The Wine Club by Edge Steele, we find the main lead Edge Steele falling for the charms of Captain Athena. Edge is no match for her and he finds his guarded universe crumbling as he submits to the whims and fancies of this powerful woman. The story takes us through her manipulations and how she starts playing with his life, rules his world and completely possesses him to make him her property. Edge Steele finds himself powerless and giving in to her charms; he becomes a slave to her ruthless passion. The story explores various angles of human passion and sexual experience.
The erotic theme in the story is provocative and that dominates the plot till the very end. Athena's emotions range from a kind of voyeurism to sexual submission to intense desire. The premises where the sexual encounters happen is really interesting. The steamy scenes, voyeurism, and the sweetly sadistic sensuality of Athena will keep readers glued to the book. The story shows a woman's desire to own and possess what she sets her eyes on, and her need to treat a man as a sex object and use him for voyeuristic purposes. The entire story is based on sexual activity which is sensual and erotic. Edge's submissive behavior and Athena's dominating character are well portrayed. The deep desperation to possess and own and the characters’ obsessive desires have been clearly defined by the author.
