The Winter Wizard Chronicles is an action-adventure fantasy novel by author Daniel Peyton. Combining books 1 and 2, it follows the misadventures of two radio show hosts named Brian and Sherri as they are thrust into the ancient magical world of Yohan. After defeating the Winter Queen Isadora, Brian gains the ability of the Winter Wizard. But their troubles are far from over as the ancient powers of King Grex and Queen Ardu emerge to wipe out the four elementals and seem hell-bent on destroying the barrier dividing earth and the magical realm. To make matters worse, Sherri is kidnapped and possessed by the memories of the warrior Athalia. With the help of a certain Mr. Cat, Brian must now rescue Sherri and save both the land of Yohan and earth.
If you are in the mood for a fun-filled action-adventure tale that takes you to a magical place filled with dragons, talking cats, and ancient evil kings and queens, then The Winter Wizard Chronicles is just the book for you. Author Daniel Peyton sets up a fast-paced story in a wildly imaginative world that feels fully fleshed out yet alien all at once. The characters are unique but still somehow seem relatable. The dialogue is witty and sharp. I especially loved the banter between Mr. Cat and Richard. There are possible sequels on the horizon that I'm looking forward to. I had a wonderful experience reading this, and I would highly recommend it to fantasy fans who don't mind going all in for a wild ride.
