There Are No Men is a contemporary fiction novel written by Carol Maloney Scott. Claire is a thirty-something professional who's a recruiter in Human Resources at a publishing house. She's been trying to find the right man online, but her computer dates have ranged from awful to ludicrous. Claire's trying to stay away from younger men or divorced men with families, and has been looking for someone who's about 50 and past the urge for procreation. Her latest date turned out to be 10 years older than his photograph, and his toupee fell on her foot outside the restaurant where they met. One morning when she's taking Dixie, her miniature dachshund, for a walk, she notices the new neighbor who just moved in across the street from her.

The heroine of Carol Maloney Scott's chick lit novel, There Are No Men, wears shoes with heels that are way too high for someone as clumsy and prone to getting wasted as she does, but that's all part of her charm. Claire's an intriguing character who has somehow gotten life and gestation inextricably entwined, despite her own inability to bear children. She's the kind of character that makes you shake your head in puzzlement sometimes, and want to shout that there's really more to life. Her story is filled with zany escapades and the most embarrassing set of moments possible, and yet she keeps on trying, and it's a joy to watch as she finally gets it all. There Are No Men is angst and high comedy and mixed-up romance all rolled up in a neat and tidy package, and it's highly recommended.

Thanks so much! It was pure joy to write Claire's story.
