NSA consultants Alton and Mallory Blackwell and David Dunlow uncover an illegal border crossing in Laredo, Texas, where children are being trafficked from Mexico. Gaby Gara is a Mexican tequila distillery owner. The daughter of Gaby's accountant, Maria Chavira, has just been kidnapped by traffickers. Gaby enters the fight. She has some unique skills of her own that come in very handy. She and her team deal with the Mexican side of the battle, while the Blackwell team handles the US side. Can they find the heads of the gang in each country and put a stop to even a tiny portion of the human trafficking that goes on? Read Steven F. Freeman’s They All Fall Down to find out.
They All Fall Down is book 12 in The Blackwell Files, and, just like the others, the action begins in the first paragraph. The standout character for me, this time around, isn’t one of the initial Blackwell team; it’s Gaby. For a civilian, she’s incredible. What I especially enjoyed about this book is that action simultaneously takes place on both sides of the border, making the plot even more heart-racing. Steven F. Freeman is a superb storyteller. I’ve read most of the series, and each plot is so different that it’s entertaining to be part of each adventure. Even though it’s book 12, this one can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I loved the final paragraph, hinting at what’s coming in book 13! Fans of action/thrillers will enjoy this book the most.
