This Book is Even More Ridiculous, written and illustrated by Eric Belmonte, is a story about Ed, depicted as the letter i with legs and a head. A drawing that any child could do. All the characters in this book are drawn with such charm that they will appeal to any child who picks this book up and asks an adult to read it with them. The story is very simple, but so beautifully interactive, encouraging children to discover the world around them in a playful way. The main characters are Ed and Kevin, a sandwich with a bite out of it, who go on an adventure with a special map.
This Book is Even More Ridiculous by Eric Belmont includes a montage of bizarre sights as Ed stumbles through strange scenes trying to find his sunglasses. The drawings will entertain a child with their simplicity. The nonsense that they depict, and the smiles and the laughter that erupt as the story is read aloud, is a delight. The author encourages the adult reader to engage with the story and bring it to life for any child listening, and encourages them to use their own imagination as the story unfolds. I found this story brings each child’s imagination to the forefront; each one is different, but just as fitting in the story. It was a delight to see how each child used their imagination on the journey to find the missing sunglasses. Thank you for this lovely book. I enjoyed reading it and loved the drawings the most.
