Dr. Kristen Williams was a practicing Christian who ran a successful fertility clinic. She was the queen of baby dust and turned impossible fertility issues around. However, Kristen nursed pain in her private life, whilst giving people hope and making other families happy. Kristen could never have children after being involved in an accident that took her mom when she was a teenager. She also lost her marriage of five years and swore off men. But then she met Dr. Blake Nixon. He was a charismatic cardiothoracic surgeon that ticked all her boxes. He wanted her, but Kristen held back because she couldn’t have children. Fate put Kristen’s faith to the test. Will she take a leap and trust God or believe the final verdict of science? Find out in Through the Looking Glass by G. Sylvester.

Through the Looking Glass by G. Sylvester brings a favorite verse of mine, Job 13:15, to mind, “Though He slays me, I will trust Him.” I loved the unique storyline, development, and character consistency. I also appreciated how the story remained focused on the developing relationship between Kristen and John. There is a powerful message to people of faith to trust in the God they serve, even when it’s inconvenient. It is easy for us to preach hope to others until we face a test of faith; the story showed that many people who make others happy often have tears behind their smiles. This book also made me nostalgic. It reminded me of the missions I attended while in medical school, caring for people in spirit, soul, and body. Thank you for this beautiful and encouraging story.
