Tick by Allison Rose is the story of a girl named Jo Bristol. She has an ability that makes her special and a target for the government. She has a tick; she has visions of people being killed, by her. But she is not alone; there are other people like her as well. The government has spy drones to seek them all out and alter their brains to minimize their chances of creating criminal havoc. But Jo does not want that, she does not want her mind altered. So keeping her ability a secret is very important. She loves to paint and her tick provides her with a muse that keeps her artistic ability flowing. But things start to change on her 17th birthday. It seems as if keeping her tick hidden will be more difficult than ever. Can she keep her visions from becoming a reality? Can she protect her artistic muse? Or will her muse become her downfall?
Oh boy, this novel is super interesting. The topic is very well managed and author Allison Rose kept the essence of thrill and action all the way till the end. This is one of those novels that will keep your heart beating and make you live the life of the character. I was completely invested in the story from the first chapter. Jo is the type of character that you root for right to the very end. She was awesome and very reflective. It was really, really good.
