Who doesn’t love a fun-filled and restful holiday, especially after a long school year? Holidays are a time of joy, but above all, they are about sharing genuine love and happiness with everyone around us. What If We Were All Merry! is written by C.M. Harris and illustrated by Vitor Lopes. It beautifully depicts this idea by exploring different holiday celebrations from around the world, showcasing diverse cultures that embody a season filled with joy, laughter, kindness, and the spirit of sharing among friends, family, and the community. Imagine how beautiful the world would be if we all carried joy in our hearts, shared love, and brought smiles to the faces of those around us. Should this sense of merriness be limited to just the holidays, or can it become a continuous practice? Read this magnificent children’s book to get a deserving answer.

What If We Were All Merry! by C.M. Harris is a beautifully crafted book that conveys powerful themes such as love, kindness, joy, rest, togetherness, cooperation, peace, connection, family bonding, community love, and support. I appreciate how the book teaches young readers about the importance of spreading love and joy to both young and old by sharing, communicating with loved ones, and maintaining positive energy. The story highlights how different people enjoy their holidays, emphasizing that communication, whether through letters or technology, and bonding are important for fostering mutual understanding. I particularly love the representation of various cultures and how they celebrate holidays. The delightful rhymes and literary devices enhance the read, while the vibrant, colorful illustrations bring the story to life. I highly recommend this book.

The holiday season gives us a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our loved ones. Whether we celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or any other holiday, the important thing is to create beautiful moments that we can remember. C M Harris's What If We Were All Merry! helps children understand the true purpose of the festivities. The book focuses on the spirit of celebration and shows different children collaborating on various activities. We see a group doing crafts and decorating the classroom. Others are doing good deeds, such as collecting scarves and winter clothes for those in need. We also see families preparing food together, decorating their homes, playing, and spending time together in harmony.

I loved What If We Were All Merry! because it charmingly addresses cultural diversity. It reminds us that traditions among friends may differ, but respect and affection should remain constant. C M Harris's narrative style is fun. She uses short sentences and rhymes that make reading entertaining, and her ideas highlight values such as kindness, empathy, and the joy of sharing. The vocabulary is simple, which makes reading easier for youngsters. I also thought the illustrations by Vitor Lopes were wonderful. They show children from different cultures living together lovingly and doing activities that young readers can imitate, such as baking cookies with their families, decorating, or spending time with their grandparents. The glossary at the end of the book explains various holidays such as Christmas, the winter solstice, posadas, and others, giving children a good understanding of other cultures.

What If We Were All Merry! A Children's Rhyming Book About Holiday Joy and Togetherness by C. M. Harris is a delightful children's rhyming picture book about the possibility that human beings could embrace universal love with each other during the holiday season. It talks about different customs practiced by different cultures, and it shows how giving back to the less fortunate in the community can make this season special. It also shows how this spirit can be extended beyond the immediate community by sending love to distant parts of the world with letters and postcards. The holiday season, like Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, is universal among different cultures, and the rhyming poems make it clear to young readers that joy and love are the common elements.

I particularly enjoyed the pictures by Vitor Lopes, as they beautifully illustrated the theme of the book. The one-stanza rhyming poems were written in simple language that young readers could easily follow, and the message embedded in the book is an important one about embracing differences and celebrating our common heritage of tolerance, love, and joy. This book could be read at home by parents, or in school by a teacher, both as an inspirational as well as an educational aid. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of exposing young children to the message of tolerance for cultural differences and of embracing diversity in their own environment, especially during the holiday season that celebrates love and joy. I highly recommend What If We Were All Merry! by C.M. Harris.
