Traveler by Nola Nash will intrigue any historical romance fan. As a travel writer, Shelby Starling has the perfect opportunity to run. She doesn't exactly know what she is running from or what keeps calling her. She knows there is an emptiness within her that she can't seem to fill. It began while in Rome. In the great Coliseum, she is sent back into history to the horrific time of the gladiators. Searching for answers, she visits a medium that gives her just enough guidance to set her on the path to her next clue to this mystery. Finding a journal and understanding what beckons her is just the beginning of her adventure. But will this quest lead her away from love? When will she stop watching great things happen and start making great things happen as foretold?

I found Traveler to be a well-written novel that pulls you in with history, suspense, and romance. Growing up in the mystical bayou country of Louisiana, Nola Nash brings a measure of magic and allure to her book. This novel goes beyond time travel as her character must find answers while she travels and eventually changes the world for the better. The story unfolds at an even pace as more of her lives are revealed when she travels to different parts of the world. Shelby doesn't just live within the pages; her search to fulfill her destiny will make you question your path. As I read, I felt the author poured her heart into this novel, and I couldn't help feeling I left with a piece of her.
